Supervisory Responsibility: Operations Manager & Department Managers, to include Quality, Customer Service, Ink Room, Prepress, Maintenance

Position Summary: Responsible for leading all plant employees and functions, to include financials, operations and customer satisfaction. The GM should have significant printing and/or manufacturing experience, in addition to proven managerial performance. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operations in accordance with company policies and procedures, current standards, guidelines and regulations. The position is also responsible for safe maintenance of the facility.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

§ Highly skilled hands-on director who focuses on increasing the level of customer satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower and materials, keeping safety as the number one priority

§ Directs and establishes key measurables, to monitor production costs, production quality, waste reports, value added activities and continuous improvements to maintain and enhance profitable operation

§ Strong leadership ability to foster and maintain an engaged working relationship with all company employees

§ Routinely reviews business results with plant employees to maximize operations and facility performance and promote open communication

§ Directs short and long term business plans of budgets and forecasts to meet customer expectations and business operations

§ Monitors plant performance through company reports

§ Pro-active problem-solver, identifying, analyzing and developing solutions to problems while thinking in terms of contingency plans

§ Assumes accountability and direct responsibility for capabilities and capacity analysis, approval/authorization for capital and operating requests, developing policies that enhance customer satisfaction

§ Provides an advisory role on business and financial issues to achieve management team goals

§ Maintain industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events and reviewing professional publications

§ Trains, coaches and mentors people. Ensures subordinates support related initiatives for their employees in accordance with company personnel management policies.

§ Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications - Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

§ Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field is required

§ Requires 10 plus years of progressively responsible experience, including forecasting, scheduling and real time operations management

§ Strong experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain or Fulfillment

§ Must have Lean Manufacturing experience

§ Demonstrated Change Management leadership skills.

§ Excellent strategic thinking skills

§ Solid ability to manage multiple priorities

§ Strong teamwork, communication and organization skills

§ Exceptional problem resolution and analysis skills

§ Attention to detail and a strong focus on safety and quality

§ Prior experience with cross-functional teams

§ Travel as necessary
