The Canopy Tour Guide will have deep enthusiasm for adventure, nature and the outdoors, allowing him/her to provide world-class aerial zip line tours to guests of all ages. With a constant eye towards safety and an everyday focus on fun and learning through play, our guides will build lasting relationships with our guests by providing an Experience of a Lifetime!

Game Creek Zip Line Tour

Flying high above the trees of Game Creek Bowl, the Game Creek Zip Line Tour is a two mile course with seven zip lines and a 100 foot aerial bridge. Guides should have a deep enthusiasm for adventure, nature and the outdoors, allowing them to provide a world-class aerial zip line tours to guests of all ages. With a constant eye towards safety and an everyday focus on fun and learning through play, our guides will build lasting relationships with our guests by providing an Experience of a Lifetime!

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivers end to end guest experience by safely facilitating participation throughout the canopy tour in accordance with prescribed operational guidelines.
  • Ensures all course operations are conducted in accordance with ACCT and Vail’s operational standards and safety guidelines
  • Coordinates all aspects necessary for participant use of activity; orientation and ground school, harnessing, helmets, PPE use, trolleys, sky bridges, zip lines, aerial stairs, repels, and other elements of the tour
  • Performs aerial rescue and ground support duties as required
  • Completes (supervises) daily inspections for all course components, equipment and gear as required
  • Communicates and documents safety issues including near misses and incident prevention opportunities
  • Engages with guests throughout the tour by delivering environmental interpretation about the mountain and the area covered by the tour route
  • Assists in operational maintenance responsibilities including but not limited to course equipment, facilities and structural inspections, cleanliness and upkeep of indoor/outdoor and front of house/back of house areas.
  • Effectively maintains an ACCT portfolio for tracking trainings and hours of facilitation

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Constantly monitor the adherence of safety policies to ensure that guest and staff safety are our highest priority
  • Perform daily inspections on all activities and equipment
  • Scanning guest tickets
  • Welcome guests to Adventure Ridge
  • Provide activity orientations
  • Assist guests with harnessing and other activity equipment

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent - Required
  • Must be at least 18 years old - Required
  • Previous experience providing guided experiences and working in an environment that required teaching, coaching, and instructional skills. - Preferred
  • Emergency evacuation or first responder experience - Preferred
  • Successful completion of all required trainings - Required
  • Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written) - Required
  • Comfortable working at heights in excess of 300 feet above the ground in a physically demanding environment - Required
  • Ability to remain calm and in control in varying degrees of emergency situations (weather, medical, rescue). - Required
