The Corporate & InvestmentBank (CIB) Finance and Business Management (F&BM) group provides financialadvice to support the CIB's business strategy and helps to ensure a soundcontrol environment. Within F&BM, the four major areas of responsibilityare: Business-aligned BMs (Business Managers), the CIB Controller, SupportStaff CFO, and Planning and Analysis.

Overview

Within CIB F&BM, the Business Management organization act as trusted partners and advisorsto the business with a goal to develop business strategies, drive execution andimplementation of business initiatives and priorities.

The Business Management function is also responsible for thecoordination and delivery of all required finance and business support. Inorder to do this, partnership with numerous other US and global functionalsupport areas is necessary, including Finance teams, Compliance, Legal, Tax, Audit,Events, Marketing, Expense Management, Office Management, Client Onboarding,Product BMs, etc. Developing a good rapport with partners, senior and juniorbankers, and senior management is essential.

PositionDescription

The role involves providingcomprehensive business management support to the North American Head of theConsumer & Retail Investment Banking Industry Group and to the sector headsof the business segments (Consumer and Retail)

The Business Manager will supportthe bankers in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas, with the majoritybased in New York.

Responsibilities

* Drive strategic agenda and deliverables for group heads, senior management, and F&BM. Ensure execution of key initiatives and provide relevant analysis for decision making.

* Work directly with industry and sector heads on quarterly business performance reviews, sector reviews, target deal reviews, global industry reviews/offsites, credit and balance sheet reviews, weekly meetings, etc.

* Analyze industry stats and data for industry trends, competition and areas of opportunity. Identify areas of focus relative to our competition and overall market opportunities.

* Coordinate and drive all financial management including: annual budgets, quarterly/monthly forecasts, revenue reconciliation, pipeline oversight and projections, expense management (e.g. approval escalations and budget).

* Manage the people agenda including: headcount planning, optimize org structure, evaluation processes, productivity reporting, group meetings and communications

* Drive best practices and help ensure adherence to firm policies. Coordinate with relevant partners to ensure proper communication, execution, escalation, and follow-up.

* Assist with ongoing client management including: account planning, account coverage reviews, coordination with GCB, CB, Regional IB, and other industry teams.

* Coordinate with Office Management function on the delivery of all administrative assistant, technology, real estate, operational and other services to the banking teams.

* Ad hoc reporting/analysis and projects.

* 4 to 5 years of business management, finance or related experience

* Ability to think/act strategically

* Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and project management skills, with the ability to synthesize and articulate results to a diverse audience

* Ability to manage multiple projects and processes with frequently changing priorities and deadlines

* Team oriented and flexible, with an ability to take ownership over projects and proactively move them forward

* Comfortable working in influencing role

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Organizational skills (ability to coordinate across multiple LOBs and a broad array of tasks)

* Understanding of Investment Banking Products and Securitized Products a plus

* Familiarity with JPM client & credit systems (e.g. Aqueduct, iBanker, Client Central) a plus
