Systems Admin TEST 8.4

Job Title: Systems Administrator
Reports to: Director of IT
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Education: Associates degree in IT or related field.  Bachelor's in IT or related discipline preferred
Experience: 2+ years of experience supporting Level 1 and 2 users and maintaining server infrastructure.  Previous experience in this role is ideal.
Microsoft MCSE certification, Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, Security+, Network+, SonicWALL CSSA, VMWare VCA, VMWare VCP preferred
Requirements:  Strong troubleshooting, communication, and
project management skills.  Proven ability to maintain IT assets and create documentation

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to maintain and resolve issues with Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2 in a production environment.
  • Frequently working with VMWare, VSphere, ESXi 6.0 and above, hypervisor management and virtual server management.
  • Hands-on work with Juniper, Jun-OS, Fortinet managing VPNs and routing.
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, ISS 7 and above, Microsoft Exchange 2013 and above, SQL 2008 and above, KACE, Skype for Business, VEEAM, VMware VSAN and Windows Firewall.
  • Management of the Corporate Anti-Virus such as Symantec Endpoint Suite, and the creation of security policies.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues with an OSI Model Layer approach by identifying problems and correcting them within the corporate framework.
  • Mindfulness of system up-time requirements and readiness to quickly address an issue causing user-facing problems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Working in an office environment, with extensive periods of time working at a desk and in front of a computer, or in a meeting space.  There are minimal physical demands required for employees in this position.  The activities of sitting, standing, communicating with others through verbal and email communication, and lifting a minimum of 25lbs should be expected.
