POSITION SUMMARY
Job Title: Full-time Dining Room Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Location: Grand Rapids, Belleville, Chesterfield, Michigan
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent experience.  Hospitality or Associates degree desirable
Certifications: ServSafe strongly preferred
Experience: 2-3 years Server experience and 1-2 years of Restaurant Management experience.  3+ years FOH Management experience strongly preferred?
Growth Potential: Dining Room Managers have the potential to work toward Assistant General Manager and above

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the work completed by hosts, server assistants, and servers to ensure guests are greeted and served their meals in a timely manner with service and presentation to our brand standard.
  • Resolve any guest complaints by approaching issues with a positive attitude, and assessing when discounts are necessary to correct any errors made by the restaurant.
  • Check in with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meal, and food quality meet their expectations and are to restaurant quality and presentation standard.
  • Observing guest alcoholic beverage consumption to ensure a safe and friendly dining experience, and ensuring all alcohol sale and consumption laws are strictly followed by making sure guests are not over served, and having the ability to cut-off guests when deemed necessary.
  • Ensure your Front of House team follow hygiene and dress code, are punctual and prepared for each shift, and represent the restaurant well throughout their shift by completing all necessary tasks.
  • Monitor operations to minimize wastage, including food, material, and labor cost by gauging staff productivity throughout their shift and cutting staff from shifts based on restaurant needs.
  • Shorten guest wait time by assisting servers with food delivery as soon as a ticket is complete.
  • Maintain efficient Front of House operations by delegating cleaning, stocking, and prep tasks.
  • Coach your Front of House team to provide excellent guest service.
  • Work cohesively with Restaurant management team, and take direction from the General Manager to complete all tasks necessary to maintain smooth running of the restaurant.
  • Cross-train in multiple areas of the restaurant and occasionally assist with Kitchen Supervisory responsibilities as directed by the General Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working primarily in the Front of House and Host station, Dining Room Managers will also spend some time working near food preparation areas alongside the Kitchen Management team.  Physical demands of this position include long periods of standing and walking, some bending, and lifting/carrying up to 25lbs.
