Job Description
Summary
Directs and coordinates activities of industrial organization to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conduct annual review with Engineering & Maintenance members and develop their training plan, to develop their expertise;
- Define improvement strategy for Engineering, focus on product improvement, standardization, and design for manufacturability;
- Monitor Production Engineers' workload, monitor their work efficiency, and do the arbitration in case of workload conflict;
- Guarantee that Production Engineers assure their mission as member of the project team, respecting rules and standards;
- Conduct drawing 2D and 3D drawing, BOM and Design reviews and audits to assure standard rules are followed and respected;
- Address engineering issues with root cause analysis, countermeasure development, and solution verifications);
- Give direction to Maintenance Supervisor for Daily, Monthly, and Annual tasks
- Ensure PM's are done in a timely manner
- Assist maintenance team with troubleshooting difficult issues when needed
- Produce weekly / monthly reports to track maintenance effectiveness
- Set plans for machine uptime improvements
- Work with cross functional team to develop maintenance plans for shutdown
- Ensure all plant equipment is maintained and kept running for production needs
- Analyzes department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and allocates operating budget.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university; with five to ten years related management experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive).
