Store Clerk - Full-time / Part-time

Store Clerk

We are looking for upbeat, genuinely engaging, highly productive and fun Store Clerks with excellent customer service and product communication in Retail hardware, tools, lawn and garden, key making and/or outdoor adventures activities. We will be scheduling phone calls later this month and interviews early January.

Position Summary

Our Store Clerks shall be responsible for maximizing sales, ensuring that the store is optimally merchandised and that customers are given excellent customer service, while working independently and as a team player using a solid set of ethics and integrity at all times.

The major responsibilities for this position include:

- A positive demeanor with fellow employees and store customers at all times

- Having fun and creating an upbeat environment is a plus. So, finding ways to make the store fun, enjoyable and also performance-focused is key

- Customers shall be fully acknowledged as soon as they walk through the door, called by their first name whenever possible and treated with respect at all times

- All concerns/issues shall be resolved quickly and in a way that creates a positive experience for each customer. Finding the parts and pieces that help each customer complete their projects shall always be acknowledged and fulfilled in the most timely way

- Helping to meet merchandising and visual presentation standards on each floor while finding areas for improvement, seeking customer testimonials, promoting safety, carrying out the Policies and Procedures for the store and helping with store events and promotions, will be actively acknowledged

- Seeking familiarity of products within the departments and pursuing course trainings on ACEnet to further one’s education will rank high

The minimum requirements for this position include:

- Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred.

- Experience: 2-3 years of solid Store Management experience at 1.5M+ in sales and accountability

- Skills/Knowledge: Being a Team player and team builder with an eager willingness to learn is critical. Possessing product knowledge in one or several departments of hardware, tools, BBQ’s, customer service, B2B products and supplies, gifts, outdoor living, cooking and outdoor adventure is important as well.

- Actively engaged: Candidate must be able to think on ones feet, while communicating clearly and effectively in all situations, even with hot-tempered/highly demanding customers who are making a scene

- Strong problem-solving, organizational and verbal communication skills

- Multi-tasker: Ability to handle tasks with kindness and a high attention to detail

The minimum physical requirements for this position include:

- Able to stand, walk, lift and kneel for extended periods of time.

- Able to step up, step down, step forward, step back, bend, turn, lean, kneel, pivot, sit, stand, reach high, reach low, reach forward, reach backward, pick up merchandise containers, move merchandise containers/boxes, lift merchandise out of containers/boxes, place returned merchandise into containers/boxes, shift and sort merchandise from within a gondola/fixture or from one gondola/fixture to another one on a different floor, able to physically lift/carry items that weigh 40 lbs., lift various heavy tools, heavy items, work/lift items with another associate, use baskets and carts with telescoping/ extending handles, walk/traverse ramps and stairs, assist customers with product to and from their vehicles, able to use a ladder, stool and scissor lift, and able to assist manager and fellow employees with securing and moving product(s) into and out of the delivery van if/when needed, and able to drive the delivery van if/when needed.

Job responsibilities may be updated as recommended/required by the owners, the industry, ACE Corporate or by law. Such updates shall be provided to Store Clerk and other associate positions as applicable, and as changes/updates are made.
