Job Description

Allied Universal is in need for a Security System Administrator to oversee a major Pharmaceutical Client in Cambridge, MA.

Job Purpose:

Lead system administrator for technology development, programming, training and implementation to Corporate Security program. Oversee the selection of all global security technology and efficiency to support business. Provide support on a variety of security system and hardware related issues to users and customers. Identifies, researches and resolves technical problems by following the troubleshooting steps developed by the manufacturers. Develops relationships with key project external stakeholders and internal customers to rollout enterprise solutions. A wide degree of creativity and technical initiative is expected with the position. Essential Functions • Provide hardware and software support to the department and peripherals globally. • Monitor and support all activity for security applications. • Administration of the security technology platform (Applications & Servers). • Work with vendors in troubleshooting issues as reported by company employees and/or security personnel. • Assist in the data entry, documentation and the testing of new system installations. • Provide telephone, email and onsite support to the security department end users. • Maintain documentation of processes and procedures. • Other technical and system related projects. • Create system standardization documentation and technical playbook • Manage security integrators efforts to install, program and commission new system • Liaise with IT on system software upgrades and patch schedules for server based applications • Create effective awareness, communications and training programs pertaining to the effective operation of security technology and applications • Identify and implement tools and software to enhance the overall effort to improve physical security efforts

Experience Requirements:

  • • 6-7 years of technical experience in corporate environment/security department • A+ Certification is desired but not required • 4+ years’ experience with Software House CCURE9000 administration experience. SH certification+ • Bachelor’s degree in area of study relevant to computer systems • Experience in managing and maintaining computer systems • Experiencing in supporting Windows Environment and basic understanding of computer networks (LAN/WAN) • Ability and desire to learn new technologies based on a good understanding of technology architecture • Good analytical skills. • Expertise and technical experience in the areas of intrusion detection, access control systems, alarm and video management, operation of command and control centers and security system integration. • Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and ability to work effectively will all level of users (both technical and non-technical users) from staff to senior management • Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines. Demonstration of strong customer service orientation required, with ability to effectively resolve client issues in a professional and service-focused manner and to de-escalate situations before they become hostile or unpleasant required;Ability to write effective and concise reports in neat, legible handwriting is required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and email a considerable plus; Professional, articulate and able to use good independent judgment and discretion; Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients, while functioning as a team player required;
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use both hands, is frequently required to stand, sit, stoop, talk and hear (communicate verbally in person and via telephone), and be able to read computer screens, correspondence and reports;
  • The employee must constantly walk, stand, reach with both hands and arms, and may drive a vehicle. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. May be required to climb stairs, ladders or ramps on a regular basis. May require periodic running. Must be able to perform these duties in the event of a security or emergency situation and be able to take a leadership role in assisting others to perform these functions;
  • The job is generally performed in various environments, including outdoors, in parking structures, and in office settings, and the employee may be subject to adverse conditions such as rain, cold or heat for extended periods of time;
  • The ambient noise level is usually quiet, consisting of normal conversations, business machines (copiers, printers, etc.) and telephones, but occasionally may be above-normal for portions of the shift;
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities;
  • Must be able to focus and multi-task in busy environment, with the ability to successfully handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
