Summary:

The Programmer Analyst position is responsible for working with functional representatives within the HMSHost organization to define business challenges and provide software solutions. The position applies current technologies to develop, modify, and maintain IT applications, workflows, and portals. This is an exempt position and typically reports to a department head.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops software solutions by studying requirements analysis and information needs
  • Studies systems flow, data usage, and work processes
  • Performs software design using software development fundamentals
  • Debugs, tests, and deploys software solutions following the software development lifecycle
  • Works with other departments, users, and IT Management to determine business needs
  • Develops and maintains key components of the software suite using various applications technologies as well as writes technical requirements and specifications for new products or services
  • Implements workflows as well as development of Business Intelligence per department standards and procedures
  • Participates in product design reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment
  • Trains end-users in the use of new system functionality or modifications to existing functions
  • Supports various off-the-shelf applications including system interfaces
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related work experience
  • Requires 3 years of experience within a software development environment
  • Requires at least 1 year of experience programming in .NET, C#, or ASP.NET.
  • Requires at least 1 year of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, or SQL Server Integration Services.
  • Requires excellent analytical, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
  • Requires exceptional oral, written and interpersonal skills especially when working with customers
  • Requires great attention to detail, ability to meet multiple deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
  • Must be motivated, independent and self-sufficient
