Retail Sales Associate, Full and Part Time

Crescent City Cooks! is looking for the right person or persons to join our family as a full-time Retail Sales Associate (30-40 hours per week) and part-time Retail Sales Associate (20-25 hours per week). We are flexible to discuss days and hours around another job schedule. We do require our new team member to commit to some weekends (i.e. two weekends a month).This position will be working in the store, and will not have kitchen or special event duties unless you express interest to grow into those roles. Work hours 8:30-6:30, Sunday-Wednesday. 8:30-7:30, Thursday-Saturday. There are also late evening classes where we stay open to 9/9:30pm, a couple of times a month.

Ideally, applicants are available to start ASAP though training can begin part-time.

About us:

Crescent City Cooks! is both a retail store and a cooking school. Our store features high end entertaining products, kitchen gadgets, local artwork and an eclectic assortment of cool, New Orleans-themed gift items. Our cooking school offers a both hands-on and demonstration cooking classes for tourists and locals to enjoy Cajun and Creole cuisine. We also use our classroom space as a multi-purpose event space and host corporate, family, wedding, reunion, and private events. We love New Orleans. We love food. Basic responsibilities:

• Greet customers and assist customers with check-out
• Educate and sign-up visitors for our on-site cooking classes
• Help with other store duties including, but not limited to: 
• Assembling shipments
• Keeping the store neat and clean (no deep cleaning)
• Setting out inventory and helping us keep our windows displays fresh and fun

Required skills:

• Friendly and personable
• Team-player
• Abiltiy to answer the phone professionally and direct custmers as needed
• Neat appearance
• Ability to stay some late evenings, 9/9:30pm
• Ability to work weekends (alternating is a possibility)
• Basic computer skills (We work on Mac computers and will train you on our registry system)
• Punctuality
• Ability to lift 20 lbs.

• Someone who likes people, food, and New Orleans 
• A basic knowledge of cooking, cookware, and Cajun/Creole-style food - but we can teach you what you don’t know
• Tourists come into our shop daily for directions and guidance, we expect you to be friendly and helpful to all shop visitors
