We are seeking a multi-talented, professional and caring Registered Nurse.  Position involves managing quality assurance with extensive one on one interaction with our clients and families. This candidate will possess superior communication skills, computer skills, and a winning attitude. 

This is a full time position Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with an hour lunch in Birmingham, MI.  It will consist of traveling to clients homes in the area.  A company car is available for all work related travel.

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Provide general supervision of CNA and Home Health Aides ensuring quality service is provided to clients.
  • Conduct needs assessments for clients to ensure the needs of the client can be met by the agency's resources, and logs those assessments to communicate changes to the staff and client's family.
  • Create and regularly update the plan of care for clients according to Home Instead Senior Care policies and applicable licensing regulations.
  • Ensure that CNA and Home Health Aides have the competencies required for the clients to whom they are assigned, conducting open-houses for CAREGivers to facilitate our award-winning training programs.
  • Provide pre-service and in-service training for staff as needed.
  • Supervise the use of Universal Precautions by all staff.
  • Provide supervision of CNA and Home Health Aides according to state regulations and Home Instead Senior Care Policies and Procedures.
  • Assure the provision of training and competency evaluations for CNA and Home Health Aides.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate production of all required paperwork for the client's plan of care, insurance, Home Instead Senior Care policies and procedures, and state/federal licensing and/or regulations.
  • Promote the longevity of CNA and In-home Aides through supportive supervision.
  • Participate in quality assurance through a quarterly record review.
  • Report allegations of abuse by the CNA and Home Health Aides or any other person to the Owner or Manager, the appropriate accreditation board, and any other appropriate state agency.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Owner or Manager.
 
Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with a  degree in Nursing and a current license.
  • Ability to provide supportive supervision to CNA and Home Health Aides and clients.
  • Previous geriatric, management, and training experience are preferred.
  • Ability to provide quality training to staff and to accurately assess the competencies of CNA and Home Health Aides.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to learn new tasks quickly and to handle a fast paced challenging environment.
  • Excellent professional and personal references.
  • Experience with handling client concerns and a strong desire to provide the highest quality service.
  • Meet or exceed minimum qualifications for each of the following checks: criminal history, motor vehicle driving record and drug test to be bondable. 
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and active automobile insurance. 
  • Professional integrity with no history of abuse toward a person.
