Job Summary:
The Trend & Design Manager creates and communicates a seasonal point of view that delivers against the company's business strategy via trend relevant, customer centric and commercial information for assigned merchandise classifications of responsibility. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated proficiencies for exploring, identifying and creating trend direction and seasonal product-design direction, developing an encompassing brand design direction across our home decor and accessory categories.



Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Create the seasonal/quarterly trend and design point of view in line with the strategic initiatives for assigned merchandise classifications
  • Provide clear trend and design direction to the Product Development and Buying Teams for assigned merchandise responsibilities (via boards/PowerPoint presentations, color palettes and artwork/design recommendations)
  • Provide support, guidance and inspiration to assigned merchandise classifications - via expert knowledge, thorough research, excellent communication and partnership
  • Evaluate and leverage external design resources
  • Research new white space product opportunities, influenced by trend and mapping consumer insights
  • Partner with Trend & Design Director, Product Development Team, Packaging Team, Buyers and DMM's to ensure alignment on priorities and direction
  • Manage the trend & design process calendar and timeline for assigned merchandise classifications
  • Partner with Product Development, Buyers, Store Ops & Marketing on key company initiatives, i.e. Welcome/Feature Tables, Vignettes, Endcaps and Reinventions Meet or exceed performance metrics
  • Travel as required

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of relevant Home Trend and/or Product Development & Design experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office products - especially PowerPoint
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong research skills with the ability to effectively translate and communicate findings
  • Presentation skills - including verbal, written and creative visual
  • Ability to develop/maintain strong working relationship with peers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong Influencer - comfortable with decision making, problem solving and providing solutions
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
  • Able to multi-task, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
