Catering Sales Manager

Be an ambassador for our exceptional offerings as Catering Sales Manager, where you will liaise between multiple departments to meet the needs -- and exceed the expectations -- of your clients.

Hotel Overview:The Fairmont Dallas, located in the Arts District of downtown Dallas, offers 545 elegant guestrooms and suites, with over 73,000 square feet of banqueting and meeting space. For over forty years, the Fairmont Dallas has been the setting for countless civic, social, cultural, convention and corporate events, but more importantly the setting for thousands of memories.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Catering & Conference Services, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

* Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service

* Establish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, during and post conference, encouraging repeat business

* Prospect for Corporate Catering Events

* Generate Sales Leads, Negotiate contracts, and Service and Execute Events

* Organize convention bookings from date of booking to departure, including meeting requirements, guest room requirements, guest room pickup, food & beverage and audio visual

* Create floor plans for each event to ensure banquets and clients are in agreement prior to set up

* Initiate billing procedures, ensuring any deposits and/or credit applications are received with adequate information and within an acceptable time frame

* Conduct pre-conference meetings with clients and pertinent departments to confirm all relevant details are communicated

* Conduct and/or attend daily meeting to review event contracts and ensure last minute changes are communicated with appropriate departments

* Confirm all event related information with clients

* Develops leads and relationships in an effort to achieve sales goals

* Sell/book, plan and execute weddings and events to include all email and telephone correspondence, tastings, rehearsal and day of execution

* Develop, plan and execute ideas to increase sales and deliver top quality weddings & events

* Attend wedding shows to increase incoming leads

* Develop relationships with local and other corporations to generate Local/SoCal corporate business

* Assist other Sales personnel to achieve departmental results

* Assist with marketing ideas for the department

* Assist other departments with internal events

* Follow departmental policies and procedures

* Follow all safety policies

* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* Previous leadership experience within a similar role required

* Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required

* University/College degree in a related discipline preferred

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required

* Must have ability to develop leads and maintain and exceed sales goals

* Experience in Wedding & Local Event Catering Sales highly desirable

* A passion for delivering exceptional guest/client service experience

* Innate ability to relate with all personality types

* Ability to work with a team approach method

* Professional appearance at all times

* Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities

* Highly responsible & reliable

* Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
