As an Artisan Bread Expert, you will be responsible for applying a mastery of skills in area of specialization and maintains quality of products. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.

We are looking for:

* 6 - 12 months scratch baking experience

* excellent communication and interpersonal skills

What is the work?

* Performs all duties of rep and specialist as required

* Trains future Artisan Bread Experts, Bakers and Fryers.

* Performs as a team member of the bakery to help ensure a safe, clean and productive operation.

Customer Service:

* Assist customers with any bakery products or purchases

* Makes regular announcements to inform customers of freshly baked product

* Uses suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and to build department sales

Production:

* Expert at creating top quality breads from scratch

* Must be able to produce a variety of breads from scratch including Artisan pan breads, natural fermented breads, and hearth breads; This includes mixing, shaping, scoring, and baking of all bread products

* Must be able to produce a variety of Pan Dulce Pastries per VTA-s.

* Properly tops and finishes all baked goods to create a fresh and appetizing presentation

* Understands production planner and executes daily production efficiently, recommending adjustments to the plan based on actual movement performance

* Maintains product integrity through proper: storing, handling, proofing,

planning/breaking out of all baked goods

* Ensures quality control of all products before sending to sales floor

* Ensures baked and fried product reaches the showcase and tables at the prescribed times

Food Service:

* Organizes back storage room, freezer, cooler, and production area

* Assists with inventory control to include loading, unloading, moving and storing products

Food Safety:

* Maintains sanitation in work area

* Ensures that all products comply with Company code dating policy

* Ensure productivity standards are met without compromising product quality

* Ensures all potentially hazardous foods (PHF) are maintained under the appropriate ambient temperatures

* Complies with the company food safety and sanitation standard

What is your background?

* 3 more years of experience in the area of specialization in Bakery preferred

* 6-12 months experience with scratch baking including mixing, shaping, and baking

* Bake Works & Fry Works Training - Food Sanitation and Safety Training

* Food Safety and Sanitation Training

Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Artisan Bread Expert?

* Knowledge and use of Baking equipment, to include set up, cleaning, operation, and maintenance

* Good Customer Service Skills

* Reading and Writing Skills

* Communication/Interpersonal skills

* Knowledge of H-E-B Systems (PC, Symbol, Scale, Label Machine)

Can you;

* Function in a fast-paced, retail environment, in detailed and precise tasks

* Work with Customers, staying attentive to their needs

* Occasionally* reaches at overhead, reaches at shoulder, reaches at knee, reaches at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch,kneel, stair climb, pivot, twist, arm push/pull, pinch, utilize fine motor skills

* Frequently stand, walk

* Constantly reaches at waist, grasp

* Must be able to demonstrate the ability to lift up to 50 lbs

* Must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage in excess of 70 lbs. It is the responsibility of the individual partner to never lift beyond his/her own safe lifting limit. If the partner feels that an item is too heavy to lift, push/pull, and/or carry, the partner must: (1) break the box down into lighter/smaller, more manageable components, which he/she is comfortable with safely handling; (2) ask for assistance from another partner; or (3) ask for assistance from a manager.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: Occasionally exposed to hot, cold, loud noises and wet conditions.
