This field case manager will cover the Northern Part of Virginia and Washington DC. Must be willing and able to travel to these areas and be licensed. This is a PART TIME ROLE- 30 hours per week.

Must live w/in Northern VA or DC Metro areas: Woodbridge, Lorton, Fairfax, Dumfries, Reston, Alexandria, or Arlington.

The field case manager is responsible for assessing and analyzing an injured employee to evaluate the medical and vocational needs required to facilitate the patients appropriate and timely return to work. This role acts as a liaison with patient/family, employer, provider(s), insurance companies, and healthcare personnel.

This role has a flexible work environment with a strong team of nurses. This is a high performing team with "team player " mentality and welcoming environment for nurses to develop strong case management and workers compensation skills.

As a field case manager you will be in a consultative & client advocate nursing role requiring the management of a case load of injured workers. This home based, field work position (Field is 75% of the time!) provides challenges in a fast paced environment. You will attend MD appointments with clients and coordinates/ assesses their medical services by interacting with adjusters, physicians, employers, attorneys, and other medical providers.. ultimately seeking return to work and maximum medical improvement.

This role will requires owning a car and a valid drivers license. In this role you will have regular local travel (75%!)-work no holidays or weekends. This is a great opportunity to work independently as a consultant with additional opportunity to earn a monthly bonus.

Fundamental Components

* You will interview employee's in their homes, work-sites or physician offices to provide ongoing case management services.

* You will evaluate employee progress toward desired outcomes through assessment and evaluation.

* The field case manager communicate both in person and telephonically with employee, medical providers, attorneys, employers and insurance carriers.

* Prepares all required documentation of case work activities.

* You will also coordinate referrals to specialists and alternate treatment provides as appropriate.

* Registered nurse with current state RN license.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE

* Must have current VA RN in good standing.

* Must have strong clinical background with minimum of 3-6 years of RN experience.

* CCM preferred.

* Home Health, prior Workers Comp/Case Management/Rehab experience a plus.

* Bilingual preferred but not required.

* Work from home but daily travel in and around Northern VA and Metro Washington DC area required

* Ability to travel within a designated geographic area for in-person case management activities

* Knowledge of laws and regulations governing delivery of rehabilitation services is preferred.

* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

* Effective communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work independently (will require working from home an average of 25% of the time).

* Proficiency with standard corporate software applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, as well as some special proprietary applications.

* Effective computer skills including navigating multiple systems and keyboarding
