The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the complete maintenance of all irrigation equipment used on the golf course, including: proper repair of existing pipe and wire network, installation of system upgrades and other work specific to the irrigation system, daily monitoring of soil moisture on golf course through syringing and hand-watering areas as needed.  All work is expected to be performed under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent.

The “must haves” for this position include:

• Minimum 3 years work experience in all aspects of golf course maintenance and landscaping.
• Minimum 1 year experience with irrigation maintenance and repair.
• Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and maintain commercial irrigation system.
• Must have current valid driver’s license.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Full dates May-October

We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

• Two or four year degree in turf-grass management or related field of study.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivation and ability to lead others will benefit a person in this position.
• Knowledge of irrigation central control system software (i.e. RainBird Cirrus)
• Must possess a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

This position generally works a 40-48 hour work week, around the beginning of April through the end of October.  Housing Provided.
