About this job

This position is responsible for granting and removing access to multiple systems including government systems. It is responsible for providing customer service through various forms such as email, phones, and as well as performing role governance/role creation and recertification of roles. Additionally, this role also recertifies access to systems/applications, and monitors system/applications for violations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role is accountable for end-to-end completion of security access requests including:
Entering request information into the request system Ensuring timely management approval of requests Completion of the technical tasks necessary to enable the requested access Follow-up with other IT areas to ensure timely completion of tasks assigned to them Problem resolution and escalation, as needed Maintenance of security-related role templates and the Security Knowledge Base Quality assurance and monitoring activities as assigned Meet customer expectations of timeliness, quality and helpfulness Demonstration of competency levels for BCBSF/FCSO-specific applications and security infrastructures

The Computer Security Tech Specialist is subject to practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policy Supervision is indirect and review of work results usually occurs after the fact The Computer Security Tech Specialist is permitted to determine their own priorities and may deviate from established procedures and practices as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability Timely problem resolution, including unusual issues, is a deliverable of this position Highly effective customer service skills are paramount for this position. High degree of autonomous decision-making, subject to routine service levels and other quality metrics The Computer Security Tech Specialist must work independently in business areas, without daily supervision, while meeting daily goals.
Performs other duties as the supervisor may, from time to time, deem necessary.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in IT or Security 2 or more years of work experience in IT or Security Technical Competencies: Demonstrated Experience in Mainframe administration skills Demonstrated Experience in Monitoring and reporting skills Demonstrated Experience in one or more of the following: TSO, UNIX, RACF, Exchange, application administration, Windows administration, and/or specialist administration as assigned (DB2, MQ, Oracle, etc.)
