Samples Department Manager

Ceramic Technics, Ltd is distributor of tile and stone with a primary focus in the commercial arena, supplying materials to retail, hospitality, corporate and educational venues.  

Job Purpose

The purpose of this position is to oversee the staff and operations of the samples department by planning and monitoring the production of marketing and submittal materials for internal and external customers.  The samples manager is responsible for managing staff, planning, and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures and recommending improvements in methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Duties and responsibilities

• Sample stock inventory management and forecasting
• Bill of materials procurement oversight and approval
• Submittals
• UPS Shipping
• Weekly production reporting
• Delegate work duties to attain objectives
• Determine staffing requirements
• Establish, refine, and document business processes and procedures
• Manages marketing and samples staff for promotional efforts to enhance the image and perception of the company and products
• Monitor and assist staff with work progress
• Employee performance management including annual performance reviews
• Responsible for achievement of department quality and productivity goals

Education and Knowledge:

• Associate's degree or higher preferred

Experience:

• 5 or more years in a management position
• SAP Business One or similar preferred

Requirements:

• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in high pressure environment
