Job Description
The GM will be fully responsible for all aspects of bar and restaurant operations for the new Colorado Springs Northgate Brass Tap craft beer bar.
This leadership and highly visible position requires the GM to work extensive hours and they will be compensated on a salary and incentive basis. The shifts will fluctuate between day and night and we are looking for a person who can cover many of the extended work hours the bar will be open. From an interpersonal skills and knowledge perspective, this person needs to be able to effectively communicate and be able to quickly think on their feet. We are looking for a person who will make our bar the best place to work in town. Additionally, we want someone who is not satisfied until our Brass Tap team is also known for providing the best bar/restaurant service in town.
Ideally, the GM must also possess some existing knowledge and management of craft beers and spirits or possess an extensive interest in learning such. This person must be outgoing, friendly and approachable, accountable, and have excellent command skills. Other competencies that are ideal for this position are: positive and constructive sense of humor, innovative, a person of high integrity and trust, motivational to other members of our team, well organized, tolerant and highly responsive to people’s concerns, an outstanding problem solver, and possess strong written and oral communications. They also must be able to actively listen to feedback and effectively apply information as collected by our multiple systems.
More specifically, the duties include generating sales, guest loyalty and a positive brand image through exceptional guest service. This person will be responsible for hiring, training, development and retention of the best employees, development of our small management team and hourly supervisors to a position of promotion. We are looking for an experienced GM who has a proven history of financial understanding, increasing profitability and exceeding profit and budgeted goals through purchasing, receiving, inventory management, labor cost, supplies and R&M control. This person will have continuous oversight and development of a team of 15-20 people.
The GM will also be fully responsible for all aspects of kitchen operation including purchasing and receiving of products and supplies, meeting or exceeding all financial goals in the kitchen including food, labor, supply costs, R&M, safety, utilities, and all other costs related to the operation of the kitchen. Given our full menu, this person must have experience with monitoring and adjusting product par levels in relations to fluctuating business levels, training, scheduling and development of all kitchen personnel (estimated to be 2-5 people).
Requested experience levels in both bar/restaurant and kitchen management would be 5+ years on both. This position will report to the Owners directly.
