The Advanced Electrical Development Engineer will lead advanced projects to bring new features from idea to first vehicle application. Responsibilities include engineering assessment of features requested by Product Design Office (PDO) and Feature Planning. Execute projects to deliver new technologies and features to the readiness level required by the Systems and Components releasing organizations for first time success. Successful fulfillment of the position expectations requires organizing and leading small cross-functional teams with members from Feature Planning, Vehicle Integration, Human Machine Interface (HMI), PDO, and Systems and Components area(s) to develop engineering feature assessments. To produce a credible assessment, the candidate will have to lead the team to establish high-level customer Functional Objectives (FOs), describe how the feature/technology integrates with a block diagram, and create a technology readiness assessment, preliminary cost, weight, investment, and application timing. Routine use of DFSS tools and methods is expected. Deliverables include development of strong core documents including functional block diagrams, DFMEA, system electrical diagrams, and performance standards with testing requirements. As the project lead, you will also be responsible for working with PDO and HMI to keep solutions aligned. Regular reporting to management is required. Interface with U.S and international counterparts will occur within the FCA organizations. Experience in the evaluation of suppliers, negotiate statements of work and manage supplier activities is helpful.
