The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Manager is a key business partner and has responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and implementing appropriate changes, configuration and processes within the Human Resources Information Systems (Workday & Taleo Applicant Tracking System). The HRIS Manager is responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, maintenance, and coordination of related applications and interfacing systems.

This position will be a process improvement lead and ensure system standardization. The ability to leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency across functional areas will be critical to success. Additionally, the HRIS Manager will have oversight for data integrity and system security, managing end user training and support. This position will leverage technology solutions to meet the needs of Human Resources and users of Human Resources Information Systems and processes. A high touch position to key internal customers, the HRIS Manager acts as the main point of contact to provide consultation to system users on best practices, trouble shooting and day to day operational needs within the HRIS.

What you’ll do

  • Provide leadership to Human Resources technology projects, including request for proposal (RFP) processes, solution selection, project management, implementation, and long term technology planning. Serve as liaison with the vendor in the design, testing and deployment of programs and processes utilizing the HRIS systems.
    • Utilize project management methodologies and practices to manage implementation, upgrades and enhancements. Maintain a portfolio of projects to ensure they are prioritized and resourced accurately with timelines are established.
  • Evaluate, develop, and recommend technology options across functional Human Resources areas. Serve as a main contact for all current vendor interfaces, problem resolution and referral work.
  • Assist in the creation of functional project documentation including business cases, requirements and test scripts. Support and collaborate with Human Resources team in the design and documentation of business processes, work flow, output and data retention requirements.
  • Document and maintain standardized process documentation related to the HRIS systems. Develop, maintain, and communicate a standard data model including naming conventions and security restrictions.
  • Complete oversight of Human Resources web strategy and maintain design/content to maximize end user experience.
  • Lead Human Resources Systems configuration and testing. Identify and resolve system and interface/data issues. Maintain data integrity of Human Resource system, including developing audit and research process. Administer HRIS system security and setup controls.
  • Provide a high level of analytical knowledge and assist in report generation. Provide ad hoc reports and extracts as needed. Ensure that project reporting needs are met while providing tactical input and support for projects and planning activities.
  • Oversight of HRIS updated process. Leadership of functional team in testing system wide implementations or upgrades. Performance of regular system maintenance.
  • Lead systems support and training including best practice guidance on system utilization. Documentation of best practices for future reference.
  • Serve as a key training lead or key support for training rollouts, including the facilitation of of training within various department or markets.

What we’re looking for

  • Prior experience working with Human Resources information systems
    • Experience with Workday and Taleo Business Edition strongly preferred
  • Prior experience developing and/or supporting system integrations required
  • Knowledge of escalation paths within Human Resources department and system administration
  • Understanding of overall Human Resources processes and foundational processes
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Advanced analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to quickly learn concepts and understand process configuration within a system
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude while solving complex situations
  • Proficient in time management and prioritization

Other key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of general business experience required, including 3-5 years of Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS) or Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) experience preferred
