Transportation Coordinator

Responsible for providing resolution for Operational Service Issues (OSIs) and answering inbound calls from sales reps and other Medline employees. Position makes decisions regarding carrier selection in reaction to the phone calls and OSIs. Position interacts daily with our carriers to get resolution on customer carrier issues. Position schedules carrier pickups including full truckload, rush carriers, rescues, etc. This position has a direct impact on the corporate FPS as a result of their decisions and the initiatives they are involved with.

• Primary goal of position includes but is not limited to answering OSIs, answering inbound calls from sales reps and other Medline employees
• Understand why and when certain modes of transportation are used to move products or raw materials between branches, into our manufacturing facilities, or to Medline Customers
• Position will involve significant communication and interaction with our carriers, our operations and sales team, as well as some interaction with our customers
• Perform freight quotes for sales reps daily

Education

• HS Diploma required

Relevant Work Experience

• 2-5 years exp experience serving as a Transportation Coordinator or related position.

Additional

• Above average understanding of the Transportation Industry
• Basic understanding of Statistical Analysis
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access

Preferred Qualifications


Education

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Logistics/Transportation/Finance/Business or equivalent

Relevant Work Experience

• Experience with SAP.
