Job Summary
AECOM has a great opportunity for
Plumbers that would support non-hazardous OCONUS and CONUS activities, with the possibilities of deployments lasting 3 to 6 months at a time. Selected candidates would perform all tasks and assignments in a safe and effective manner. Essential duties include assembling pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment; pressure test installations to assure integrity and that the installation meets the specified design requirements; review blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures; review and implement building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring; keep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports; locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, access and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels; measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines; install pipe assemblies, fittings and valves; cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools; hang steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place; repair and maintain plumbing, replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, and opening clogged drains; direct workers engaged in pipe cutting and preassembly and installation of plumbing systems and components; and perform other duties as directed.
Minimum Requirements
+ High school or GED equivalent.
+ 7 or more years of job related experience.
+ Demonstrated proficiency of architectural skill set through trade school, technical school and / or experience.
+ Must have Active TS Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
+ TS/SCI w/poly preferred.
+ Minimum of 7 years in the architectural trade is preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail and demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude is highly preferred.
+ Experience with installing cast iron waste and vent is preferred.
+ Experience in copper water piping installation is preferred.
+ OCONUS experience preferred.
+ For international projects, candidate(s) must be able to obtain a U.S. Tourist passport before employment start date.
