About this job

Candidates will travel to job site (in company car) to do preventative maintenance and repairs. Also sell company product.


* Follows all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000.
* Travels to customer sites to evaluate, diagnose, and repair customer's equipment.
* Removes and disassembles cells and inspects parts to detect defects, replaces defective parts, reassembles battery, which includes use of a gas torch to reconnect lead straps in the battery.
* Fills cells with acid solution and determines specific gravity of solution.
* Washes, cleans, and neutralizes customer's batteries at customers' location.
* Diagnoses and repairs battery charging equipment.
* Installs, provides preventive maintenance, and repairs battery handling equipment.
* Operates material handling equipment per OSHA requirements.
* Installs new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
* Performs inspections and analyzes findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
* Coordinates problem resolution with technical support, customer service, sales, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
* Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
* Maintains records of performance reports.
* Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
* Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.

Qualifications:

A desire to work independently on-site at customer locations.
- 2-3 years of past mechanical and electrical experience
* The ability to quickly analyze situations and make a decision, and provide immediate feedback to the customer.
* Previous customer service experience in field support.
* A basic mechanical aptitude.
* Previous experience working with hand and power tools.
* Able and willing to travel to customer sites.
* Able to complete in a timely, neat and accurate manner all customer reports including work orders.
* Must be able to do over night travel.
* Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record with minimal traffic violations. Must be at least 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
* Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a daily continuous basis.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Must be proficient with Smart Phone, Laptop, and Tablet operation.
