Primary Responsibility

Ensure all guests, of all ages, have a great experience at our resort and are provided a clean, safe and entertaining environment while staying with us.  Associates will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas; ie pool towels, bathrooms, walkways and any trash around the pool area. 
  • Maintain complete knowledge at all times of hotel features/services, hours of operation and recreation pricing.
  • Meet with Supervisor to review daily assignments and priorities.
  • Maintain the safety of the patrons in and around the pool
  • Represent maintain a professional attitude
  • Communicate and enforce all pool regulations and pool rules in a personable and professional manner
  • Communicate any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to the Aqua Park Manager
  • Attend all scheduled staff meetings
  • Participate in and help facilitate staff training
  • Perform patron surveillance with a rescue tube from the stand
  • Remain alert and use all senses while guarding
  • Work as a team with other lifeguards during special events
  • Record daily participation numbers and complete daily activity reports
  • Test the water, record results and report imbalances to the Enginering
  • Set up the pool for various activities such as laps, classes, etc.
  • Be able to respond to an emergency and contact/activate EMS
  • Handle all incidents in a manner appropriate to your training
  • Complete all injury reports in black or blue ink
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Promote positive guest relations to all individuals enjoying the aqua park.
  • Inform management immediately when more products need to be purchased.
  • Set up and breakdown of events.
  • Must work well with kids of all ages and adults.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays. No requests for weekends or holidays are guaranteed from May 1 – Sept 10.
  • Must maintain proper appearance and hygiene standards.
  • Must be able to walk, run , sit and stand for continuous periods of time over an 8 hour shift in all types of weather conditions
  • Assist in overseeing the pool and its activities/games

General Skills/Qualifications

  • Must be a service minded individual with a positive attitude who truly enjoys helping others.
  • Must be quick on their feet and adept at handling stressful situations seamlessly.
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.
  • Must enjoy working with children and families.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule with an understanding that working weekends, holidays and evenings are required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must know how to swim
  • Must be able to obtain first aid/CPR certification

This position is primarily in the pool area .
