Assistant Manager

The Assistant Manager has a lot of responsibility and this job requires solid leadership skills. The AM will assist the General Manager with the day-to-day operational duties required to maximize sales growth and minimize expenses while maintaining satisfied guest and developing team members. AM's need to keep a level head, be able to multitask and have a team-winning attitude. Shifts vary but AM's can expect to work a full 45-50 hour week. Availability for nights, weekends and holidays is required. This role requires you to take control and delegate responsibilities to other team members; AM's are just as hands-on as the hourly team member. The AM can expect to be busy with assisting team members, guests relations, completing paperwork, training new team members, cleaning the restaurant and covering shifts. AM's will be exposed to all the knowledge to become a General Manager and have the opportunity for advancement based on performance.

OPERATIONS:
An Assistant Manager is responsible for merchandise and food sales and transactions; vendor delivery situations; restaurant cleanliness; in-stocks; and customer service during their work time. They are also responsible for maintaining company standards of .10% cash variation of all dollar sales and .75% (at cost) variation for inventory and merchandise sales.

MERCHANDISING:
An Assistant Manager is responsible for correctness of retail pricing; acceptance of only authorized product; maintaining the restaurant layout; ensuring only fresh product is available for sale; and carrying out promotions, programs and other aspects of the merchandising-marketing programs in their restaurant.

PERSONNEL:
An Assistant Manager is responsible for conducting him/herself in a courteous, business-like manner; for maintaining good personal appearance and hygiene; for working with and through their General Manager to improve other team member's appearance and performance; and for managing their operations and people in the absence of the General Manager

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand and walk up to 10 hours daily performing the functions as described above; must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds; must be able to climb up ladders and step stools; must be able to bend, twist, and reach to perform the functions described above; must have corrected vision to be able to read a cash register; must be able to work around various odors, dust and mist as well as stock a refrigerated vault; must be long-tempered and slow to anger; must be able to remain calm when dealing with Guest who may be abusive or threatening; must be able to identify safety hazards, and correct them when necessary.
