We are looking to fill the position of CAD Drafter for our client in Carnegie Pa

 

 

Summary/Objective:

 

Support the fabrication of new point of purchase displays and small volume manufacturing through the development of detailed shop/construction drawings and specifications based on existing designs and sketches. Assure that all drawings and specifications have taken into account how each product will serve its intended functionality in an attractive, efficient, safe, reliable and cost effective manner. Create CNC cut files using industry standard CAD/CAM software.

 

Education, Experience & Abilities:

 

  • Formal training and/or college course work in a design, fabrication, or industrial technology field.
  • Experience with and the ability to create structural and mechanical shop drawings using CAD software is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, tools and equipment that are used in fabrication.
  • Applicants should be detail-oriented and committed to producing accurate, quality, comprehendible shop drawings in fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Inventive spirit, initiative to work alone without direct supervision, and be responsible for timely completion of assigned tasks.

 

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

 

  1. Create structural and mechanical shop drawings, construction specifications, and CNC cut files using industry standard CAD/CAM software. Modify existing drawings per mark-ups/redlines as required.
  2. Create cut lists and bills of materials for all projects released for production.
  3. Actively support the production design and fabrication process by coordinating with both internal and external designers, engineers, metal fabricators and specialty contractors.
  4. Communicate with all fabrication team members regarding ongoing projects to maintain direction to ensure production needs are met.
  5. Follow all Safety Policies and maintain OSHA compliancy through work practice.
  6. Keep shop and personal workspace neat, clean, organized and well supplied.
  7. Must demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships and team environment with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, with a focus on quality service to internal staff and external clients, vendor and subcontractors.
  8. Support operations through participation in meetings and team functions as appropriate.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week and occasional weekend and evening hours

Travel No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma.
  2. Bachelor degree Technical/Engineering
  1. At least one year experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Inventor with CAD tools is preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Experience with relevant CAD/CAM software, Sigmanest application, ERP software and Microsoft office.
