Position: Transport Driver
Reports To: Transport Manager
Location: Various (ME, NH, RI, CT, MA)

Essential Duties:

1. Deliver products, driving transport in a safe and prudent manner, obeying all applicable state and federal laws governing your actions. You must always show above common courtesy to all vehicle operators and pedestrians. 
2. Carefully reviewing delivery instructions to minimize errors; ie… proper products and amounts, prices, locations, methods of payment, etc.
3. Being well versed on company policies as well as state and federal laws concerning the handling and transport of hazardous materials, including the following:

  • Proper spill containment and emergency procedures.
  • Proper handling of hazardous materials.
  • Proper documentation required by law (shipping papers, MSDS sheets etc.)

4. Performing daily pre-trip and ongoing truck inspections, noting results on proper forms.
5. Properly maintaining Daily Log and Customer Log books.
6. Following proper loading and unloading safety procedures; ie… use of safety cones, parking lights and not leaving the vehicle unattended while loading or unloading, etc.
7. Maintaining a high standard of professionalism, politeness and courtesy when interacting with customers, terminal operators and the general public.
8. Performing routine preventative maintenance and above average cleanliness of your truck and associated equipment, including keeping the cab clean and free of garbage, performing daily washes and periodic waxing of truck and trailer. 

Requirements:

  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Report defects, accidents or violations
  • 2 Years Proven work experience as a truck driver
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
  • Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations
  • Trucking school diploma
  • Valid Class A truck driving license
  • Certification in adjusting air brakes
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

Additional Information: 

  • Must be able to read, write and operate electronic equipment and sales transactions.
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must be able to follow instructions
  • Must be able to stand for up to an hour in various types of weather conditions
  • Must be able to kneel, lift and bend up to 100 (one hundred) pounds.
