POSITION SUMMARY
The Outlet Associate works with the Outlet Manager to plan and execute operational objectives and assist
with various roles throughout the outlet site. This role demonstrates behaviors consistent with Goodwill’s

capacities within the outlet location.

Hours of Operation
Outlet: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday
Warehouse: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday thru Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday

various functions within the outlet setting.
Responsibilities
● Various roles and responsibilities of an Outlet Associate on the front end include the
following.
● Provides excellent customer service by accurately ringing up customer orders and maintaining a
balanced drawer.
● Provides general information about Goodwill programs to educate customers and answer questions.
Directs all higher level questions to appropriate associate or manager.
● Follows all cash handling procedures and protocols including prevention of counterfeit, quick
change artist by checking $20 bill and above; requesting manager’s assistance for sales $50 or
above.
● Maintains the cleanliness of the sales floor.
● Safely moves properly priced and tagged furniture to the sales floor, arranges in an orderly
manner.
● Assists with customer furniture carry out requests.

● Assists with the rotation of commodity bins on the sales floor and sorting items accordingly.
● Assists team members when needs arise.
● Exhibits a willingness to cross-train in various outlet functions.
● Various roles and responsibilities of an Outlet Associate on the back end include the
following.
● Pulls full commodity bins to the staging area, set up and label commodity bins accordingly.
● Sorts and separates recyclable items from salvaged items, place in appropriate containers.
● Provides excellent customer service by professionally and quickly accepting donations from
customers and maintaining a clean and clear donation door.
● Loads and unloads truck as needed.
● Maintains an efficient working area by ensuring the back room is clean and organized (all boxes
labeled, everything in its place and a place for everything), sweep the floor and keep cleared of
spills.
● Sorts through commodity bins to ensure all personal and confidential materials have been removed
from donated items.
● Notifies manager when money, credit cards, weapons, personal or questionable objects are found.
● Physical demands for this position will include regular use of heavy equipment including a pallet
jack, double stacker, floor scrubber, tipper, baler and hydraulic lift.
● Meets designated daily quotas.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
● High school diploma or GED preferred; less than high school education will be considered with up
to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience
● Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills
● Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with
10’s and 100’s
● Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but
uninvolved written or oral instructions plus the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete
variables in standardized situations
● Heavy Equipment: Pallet jack, double stacker, baler and tipper
● Physical Demands: Stand for prolonged periods of time; grip, pull, and tug with hands; bend,
kneel, and crouch with back and legs; lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds; specific vision abilities
required by the job include reading a computer monitor, close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; and strong attention to detail and
quality of work including safety awareness
