BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to manage and direct the implementation of company-wide Affirmative Action programs. This position will establish policies and guidelines as well as ensure Love’s Family of Companies compliance with federal and state employment laws.

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain current and complete understanding of Federal and State employment laws such as (Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, sexual harassment, and NLRA)
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation of Affirmative Action Plans for all business units
  • Ensure consistent management of AA plans and effective partnership with business leaders and other internal and external partners
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead efforts to implement them across multiple areas
  • Oversee annual AA reviews with senior leadership to monitor goal progress and ensure alignment with business needs
  • Collect and analyze data to prepare affirmative action plans and submissions to OFCCP
  • Ensure that all annual and mid-year Action Plans are reviewed, tracked and communicated to appropriate personnel
  • Analyze and refine data as necessary to prepare responses to OFCCP audit inquiries
  • Engagement with OFCCP and other regulatory agencies, and partner with risk, legal and outside counsel to satisfy audit and regulatory exam requests
  • Prepare responses to state and or other surveys related to Company EEO/AA efforts
  • Prepare communications regarding employment related notices (local, state and federal)
  • Manage preparation of government reports as required, such as EEO-1, VETS-100A
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel as well as with the OFCCP and the EEOC
  • Develop OFCCP audit response strategy and manage audit responses from compliance checks, advance notice letter, desk audit, on-site audit, findings, and subsequent follow-up reporting and related negotiations
  • Conduct and monitor adverse impact analyses for applicants, hires, promotions, terminations, and performance reviews. Recommend strategies based upon results of analyses.
  • Oversee the necessary data gathering, data cleansing, data analysis and interpretation to generate and deliver appropriate reports and presentations.
  • Ability to work across multiple lines of business leading large scale initiatives
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Direct, implement, and coordinate the development and monitoring of AA programs and related initiatives
  • Oversee development of presentations and reports for use by senior management (Corporate Vice Presidents, Operations Vice Presidents, Directors)
  • Develop and deliver AA training as well as AA related presentations and reports
  • Advise, counsel, and assist management on AA related matters
  • Consult the business on human resources compliance training
  • Review, revise, and update plans, policies, procedures, and operations in relation to AA, as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required
  • Experience:
    • 5-7 years’ experience managing 10+ AA plans in multiple states and/or multiple operating divisions

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products suite, and ability to learn new software applications and computer programs.

  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
