Job Description

Demonstrates  and  promotes  exceptional  customer  service  skills  using  Kelly-Moore  Paint  Company’s

Signature Service Standards and coaches the team to the same standard.

•     Demonstrates a solid understanding of company products and applications while assisting customers from selection of products through point of sale.

•     Collaborates with sales team in launching product promotions and developing strategies to generate and grow customer accounts.

•     Complies with the requirements of a retail store schedule, which may include opening the store early in the  morning,  and  on  weekends  and  holidays,  and  closing  the  store.  May  assist  Store  Manager  in scheduling staff in order to meet business needs.

•     Handles payment transactions, cash and charge verifications and deposits, change verifications and safe withdrawals following company protocols

•     Promptly and effectively resolves customer and/or staff issues when the Store Manager is not available.

•     Accurately prepares and/or contributes to the processing of operational and sales documents.

•     Accurately handles receiving procedures; unloading and stocking incoming inventory.

•    Accurately tints paint and eye matches color.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES

•    Professionally represents Kelly-Moore Paint Company.

•    Promotes positive interpersonal relationships among store staff.

•    Assists Store Manager and employees to ensure all operational parameters and goals are met.

•    May deliver orders to meet customer requirements while complying with Kelly-Moore Paint Company’s driving agreement.

•     Helps to maintain paint and sundry inventories to required levels, ensures proper stock rotation, and conducts cycle counts, shelf audits, ordering and physical inventories.

•    Helps to maintain company standards for store appearance, including the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the store.

•    Helps to maintain company merchandising standards for store appearance, window and sales floor displays, promotional displays, etc.

•     Assists Store Manager to ensure all requirements of the store compliance program are met.

•     Completes all required training in a timely manner and supports staff to do the same.

 

•     Complies with all Kelly-Moore Paint Company policies and procedures.

•     May perform light maintenance including sweeping, mopping, and dusting. May clean restrooms as needed.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•     Age requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older.

•     Frequently kneels, stoops, crouches, bends, climbs, reaches overhead, pushes, pulls, and grasps.

•     Works around heat, cold, dirt, dust, and minimal paint odors.

•     Uses electronic point-of-sale device and scanner.

•     Operates a variety of motor vehicles including vans and flatbed trucks.

•     May be required to operate powered industrial trucks such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, etc.

•     Accurately distinguishes colors.

•     Operates powered industrial equipment, including tinting and shaking equipment.

•     Frequently carries, relocates and/or lifts up to 70-pound cartons and containers, including 5-gallon paint containers.

•     Operates a fully loaded (280 lbs.) hand truck and/or cart (1120 lbs.).

•    Stands and walks on concrete surfaces for up to 8 hours per day.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

•    Excellent customer service skills.

•    Ability to understand, communicate and implement store and corporate policies.

•    Ability to understand and demonstrate a structured sales process.

•    Valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and the ability to operate a variety of vehicles including vans and flatbed trucks.

•    Successful completion of the company driver’s safety and defensive driving courses as required.

•    Ability to use the Internet, computer and software applications, databases and spreadsheets.

•    English language skills, including a level of reading comprehension, and written and oral language conventions ordinarily attained by receiving a high school diploma or equivalent.

•    Math skills of number sense, measurement, and geometry, and math reasoning as are ordinarily attained by receiving a high school diploma or equivalent.

•     Minimum of 2 years of experience in paint/coatings, construction, home improvement industry, and/or retail.
