Electrical Service Technician

The Electrical Service Technician (EST) is responsible for installing high-quality field work. The EST will perform electrical installations by him/herself, but as required for some specific projects, will be responsible for managing and/or working with other journeyman and apprentice electricians. He/she takes on a leadership role to provide direction and technical guidance to the crew, while maintaining customer service for the project. The EST plans and coordinates work, and ensures that the materials, tools, equipment and job information are on the job site or in the service van ahead of time. The EST will be required to operate a company vehicle in an appropriate manner.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Clean Background Check
• Clean Motor Vehicles Record and clean Drug Screen
• At least 5 years of experience on residential and commercial jobs; industrial experience is a plus but not necessary
• Must have experience installing panels, running/bending pipe, working off of prints, pulling wire, troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues quickly
• Must have all basic tools (tape measure, wire stripper, screw driver, levels, hammer, side-cutters, channel locks, electrical meter, etc.) Any large tools are provided by Bryant Electric.
• Foreman/Supervisory experience is a plus
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet)
• Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds without assistance
• Able to perform work on uneven surfaces, frequently climb ladders and on/off equipment, and work from various heights
• Able and willing to walk, stand, bend, and sit for long periods of time
• Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
• Willing to follow safety policies and procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment required for the job in a safe manner
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers
• Must be flexible with hours, shifts and geographic location with reasonable notice

Skills:

• Deductive Reasoning: able to look for problems in complicated electrical grids, isolate the issue and solve it
• Manual Dexterity: able to use hand tools and handle small components
• Math: able to analyze and create schematics
• Observation: able to look at electrical grids and evaluate them for any problems to make sure they are being installed correctly
• Problem-Solving: able to identify issues and take corrective measures to fix problems with electrical components

General Duties:

• Performs electrical work alone or with others, making judgment calls for crews in the field prior to contacting Superintendent or Owner
• Performs rough wiring, power distribution wiring, and wiring of electrical equipment, maintenance, and fixtures, and installation of conduit according to the National Electric Code (NEC)
• Estimates the general amount of time and material needed to complete service tasks and advises the Superintendent on job progress and material requirements
• Accomplishes various projects utilizing design drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams
• Maintains a safe workplace environment and ensures that safety is the highest priority in the workplace
• Interacts professionally with clients, including representing Bryant Electric by a clean and neat appearance on the job, identifying client needs and the most effective way to meet them, treating the client with respect, and building strong relationships with clients
