Job Description

Mall General Manager, Indio, California

We are in escrow to purchase the Indio Fashion Mall which is located near the corner of Monroe and Highway 111 in Indio, California.  Our need to fill the Mall Manager position is at hand.  We are planning a major redevelopment of this property with  planning and community outreach efforts beginning immediately.  We need an experienced administrator from a construction or facility maintenance company to take on this challenge of managing the transition of this property to a new, exciting and vital retail development in the City of Indio.

 Primary Duties:

  • Oversight of onsite handyman, security, vendors and maintenance staff.
  • Development and oversight of promotional activities at the property.
  • Tenant relations including rent collection as needed.  Accounting and billing will be handled by LA office. 
  • Work with leasing staff in support of ongoing leasing efforts.
  • Work hours will be minimum of 40 hours per week.  Regular work days will be Tuesday – Saturday but flexibility is required to oversee promotional events and any other property matters which may arise.  This is a salary-exempt position so it is not eligible for overtime.  Comp time off for extra hours worked will be granted at management’s discretion.

Attributes:

  • Track record of administration in a construction setting either in a private company or possibly a municipal public works department as construction and facility maintenance knowledge will be needed to oversee the maintenance function.

  • Good communicator as job involves lots of hands-on management of people involving maintenance, promotions and tenants.

  •  

    Organized administrator.  Good at follow-up, inspections, managing To Do Lists, meeting schedules. 

Compensation:

  • $50,000+ based on work experience. There will be potential for salary and responsibility advancement as the mall redevelopment and expansion occurs.
  • Two weeks’ vacation; five days of sick pay; medical insurance; disability insurance after one year of employment.
