Job Description:

Purpose

The Receptionist role serves as the first point-of-contact for the entire Floor & Decor Distribution Center. This position is responsible for providing general office support with a variety of clerical duties and related tasks, greeting visitors, answering and routing incoming calls to appropriate personnel, mail distribution, ordering office supplies and managing the front reception area.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED (Associate’s degree preferred)
  • Courteous and professional telephone etiquette
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Possess a professional and neat appearance
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, track projects and follow through on assigned tasks
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to adapt to changes, work quickly and accurately with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be self-motivated, possess a positive attitude and demonstrate initiative
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Answer, screen and direct incoming phone calls while providing basic information when needed such as company address, directions, company website and other related information

• Greet and check in all visitors in a professional and friendly manner – ensure all have proper ID and have a Visitor pass at all times on the property

• Maintain security by following procedures and controlling access by ensuring all visitors are signed in, issued visitor badges and are signed out

• Interact in a positive manner with all associates, customers and the general public

• Responsible for keeping the reception area and any public areas in neat and orderly condition

• Manage conference rooms and assist with scheduling

• Provide assistance with conference room preparation and setup as needed (e.g., ordering catering, confirm adequate seating, configuring tables/chairs, etc.)

• Receive, sort and forward incoming daily mail

• Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.)

• Assist in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies

• Coordinate with vendors and services they provide

• Perform other related clerical duties as required or deemed necessary

  • The noise level in the work environment is typically quiet to moderate.
Physical/Sensory Requirements

Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
