Department of Health -Environmental Health OPS

DESCRIPTION

Administrative Assistant OPS position available at FL Dept. of Health, in Hurston Towers building, 400 W. Robinson St., Orlando; 20 hours per week consisting of four-hours each weekday between 8:30am and 3:00pm; salary is $12.50 per hour, 20 hours per week; no health or paid leave benefits are available for this OPS position; background FDLE screening is required.

Applicant must be self-motivated to work alone with some instructions after several weeks training period.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

In an indoor office setting, following verbal & written instructions and established protocols

Conducts and receives telephone calls to/from clients and government agency staff

Writes, sends and receives emails to/from clients and agency staff with attachments

Receives and appropriately files paper and electronic documents

Electronically scans and files paper documents and large plans

Logs work accomplished by two consultants into Excel software

Lifting under 20 lbs. of paper routinely

Performs other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Good communication, customer service and problem solving skills

Familiarity with standard office equipment and software

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and volume of work

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively redirect phone calls

Ability to research via internet

Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

OTHER JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION

Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross

shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
