What you will do:

The Digital Designer effectively applies visual design principles and the architecture of shared information environments to Pei Wei’s ecommerce platforms. This role is responsible for envisioning, creating, re-creating, testing and executing an exceptional user experience across the web including desktop, mobile, tablet, and email. This position plays a key role on the brand marketing team in driving both positive behavioral and transactional results. Maintaining a mastery of front end development language and content management systems is a must to ensure site functionality, along with creating responsive design. The Digital Designer is responsible for designing and developing the creative content, as well as working with the brand marketing team to achieve campaign objectives with the creative.

Essential Functions:

Development:

  • Build elegant integrations between front-end components and back-end web services.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Implement new and responsive user experiences and interfaces.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Work with team to ensure quality design and routine digital applications.
  • Assure all user input is validated before deploying creative.

Content Management Systems:

  • Design for large-scale CMS deployments featuring web pages, dynamic content, and taxonomy-driven ordering capabilities.
  • Drive functionality and optimized use of content management systems and frameworks.

Visual Design:

  • Apply effective visual design principles and UX design patterns across web, mobile and email.
  • Envision and implement best practices design for websites, mobile and email communications.
  • Support the creative team through image editing, manipulation and color correction as needed.
  • Provide additional design support for graphic design team when needed.

Analytics:

  • Work with the digital marketing team to measure and report results based on common analytics software (Google Analytics) and their application in designing a best in class user experience.

Collaboration:

  • Work with cross discipline team members to design and develop digital strategies and solutions.
  • Evaluate and clearly articulate an integrated ecommerce strategy.
  • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion within an intelligent content delivery system.

Innovation:

  • Evaluate opportunities to use new tools to stay on the cutting edge of technology.
Requirements

What you need:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, website or other related technology field required required

Experience:

  • 5 years front-end development work in HTML, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript
  • 5 years of experience in designing for eCommerce channels with advanced experience in responsive design
  • Experience with latest front-end frameworks including AngularJS, React, Bootstrap or similar
  • Strong background in developing high traffic ecommerce web sites with media rich experiences
  • Strong background in managing cross-functional collaboration and partner agencies and/or contractors
  • Experience contributing to the creation of a wide range of UX deliverables such as personas, site architectures, wireframes, prototypes, interaction flows, or other documentation for development
  • Knowledge of and experience with structuring data to aid usability, syndication, and search optimization
  • Experience in Sitecore Content Management System is preferred, but not required

Competencies:

  • Ability to articulate vision in design principles and effective architecture
  • Strong understanding of social media campaigns, display marketing campaigns, websites, intranets, and software that support usability and findability
  • Can perform or analyze usability testing and provide recommendations based on that analysis
  • High level of creativity
  • Strong collaboration skills
