Providence is calling a Cook (1.0 FTE, Evening Shift) to Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all -- especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
* Prepare orders by cooking or preparing food items for each meal service that may include hot and cold menu items and must be prepared using the standard recipes and guidelines.
* Prepare and deliver snacks to participants/residents/patients/clients including set up, deliver, and retrieve food trays and carts to units, catered events, and as otherwise instructed.
* Adhere to "clean as you go" practice and maintain workstations as dictated by guidelines and schedules.
Required qualifications for this position include:
* High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
* Experience cooking with industrial cooking equipment and at least six (6) months prior restaurant and/or institutional food service experience.
* Washington State Food Handler's card.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
* Experience in a health care setting and up to four (4) years in a related culinary environment.
* Customer service experience.
About the skilled nursing facility you will serve.
Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, Washington serves people of all ages and faiths. Our Transitional Care Unit is designed for patients coming out of the hospital who need skilled nursing care, end of life care, or rehabilitation for those recovering from surgery or who have a functional loss from illness, disease, or an accident. Our Long Term Care unit provides skilled nursing in a residential setting, addressing the needs of our residents through creating a sense of community and home in "neighborhoods" and providing a model of care that is resident-centered.
