Structural Engineer - Full-time / Part-time

The client is a full service design and engineering firm. They employ ~35 engineers and architects who perform ground-up design and renovation/fit-out design with in-house architects and in-house MEP design engineers. They staff design projects including the African American History Museum, Hospitals, and more.

The Structural Engineer will perform calculations for ground-up design and renovations of existing commercial buildings. ill be working in a team of 6, including 4 production level engineers, 1 engineering manager and 1 administrative manager.

Job Duties include:

Structural design during Design Development phase
Structural calculations during Construction Document phase
Production of drawings in AutoCAD (Revit a plus)
Calculate design specs for concrete, steel, cold-form steel, wood, and a variety of commercial buildings.
Conduct site surveys

Projects include architecture and engineering for:

-Mission Critical Facilities
-Athletic Field
-Municipal Buildings
-Historical preservation
-Office Buildings
-Parking garages
-Recreational/Community Centers
-Maintenance facilities
-Fire stations

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
3 years of experience performing structural calculations for commercial buildings
3 years of experience using ADA and IBC building codes to design commercial buildings
3 years of experience designing with steel, wood, concrete, and cold-form steel
3 years of experience using AutoCAD for building design calculations (Revit is a plus)

Performance Expectations: Candidate is expected to perform structural design calculations for wood, steel, concrete, cold-form steel, and other building materials with accuracy and attention to detail. Will support large projects with team support, and/or will support multiple smaller projects at a time.
