Job Summary:
The person hired for the position of Product Environmental, Health, Safety and Regulatory (EHS&R) Associate in the AAD will be an experienced EHS&R professional with strong capabilities across a variety of products and markets. We're looking for a person who is collaborative, a great communicator, has excellent judgement, and can perform in a fast-paced, growing, global division.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Leads and performs technical activities leading to regulatory compliance, assessment of safety to human health and the environment, liability avoidance, and product responsibility issues concerning existing or new chemicals, materials, products, hardgoods (where appropriate), and/or technologies or processes having significant importance to the division.
* Develops and maintains documentation relevant to assessment of risk to human health and the environment. Prepares and files regulatory and safety documents.
* Effectively manages activities sensitive to matters of confidentiality / non-disclosure
* Works well in teams, an individual contributor, as a facilitator, and leader.
* Collaborates within and outside the organization, at all levels, both locally and globally.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in a Science or Engineering discipline from an accredited university
* Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with products in a regulated environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Chemical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
* Previous regulatory experience - either industrial or consumer
* Experience with product Life Cycle Assessment
* Previous experience with Trade Organizations such as Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA) and American Chemistry Council (ACC).
* Previous experience with US and OUS regulations, including Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), global inventories, product registrations
* Proficient in interpreting regulatory documents such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), labels, state/federal regulations/legislation
* Experience dealing with global regulatory contacts for international regulatory compliance
* Works independently, solves problems using good judgment, is ethical, organized and prioritizes, has excellent verbal and written communication / presentation skills, is persuasive, able to translate technical information into layperson
* Experience working on a cross-functional team
* Microsoft Office proficient.
