About this job

You are an ambassador for the IKEA store meeting and serving our many IKEA visitors. You have the customer in focus, work to support sales and give our customers a good reason to return.

YOUR ASSIGNMENT
Your tasks will include
  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware in a properly maintained dish machine and wash and sanitize pots, pans, and utensils by hand
  • Perform Dish Room opening and closing routines as assigned
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of Restaurant/Staff Café dining tables, chairs and floors
  • Takes dishes and carts to kitchen area and return carts to dining areas.
  • Follow food handling, health, safety, hygiene and sanitation regulations and guidelines
  • Maintain Basic Actions for my area, including a clean, organized work area following waste management guidelines
  • Ensuring your area of responsibility is clean, tidy, attractive and inviting.
  • Understanding and contributing to your department’s action plans, and supporting the goals and targets set by your manager.
  • Taking action to ensure safety at all times.
  • Ensure efficiency and good operations following daily operational routines as set by your manager.
  • Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and guests

Essential Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Lifting/Handling Requirements - Ability to frequently move or handle merchandise/food items throughout the location generally 50 pounds. This may include bending, stretching, reaching, and lifting on a regular basis. Any manual lifting over 50 lbs will require the assistance of other co-worker(s) and/or use of manual lifting equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups
  • Standing for most of shift
  • Walking requirements - freely move across all areas of the location such as sales floor, stock area, and cashier area.
  • Operation of IKEA Food equipment and extensive handling of kitchen cutting and
  • cooking utensils
  • Able to use a pallet jack safely.
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress
  • Strong attention to detail in order to maintain Basic Actions and adhere to IKEA
  • Policies and guidelines
  • Proficient in the English language - written, verbal, reading skills
  • Ability to communicate with guests and co-workers and manage moderate stress.
  • Wear PPE (personal protective equipment) where applicable; and to use small power tools and related equipment.
