Experienced Lab Technician (Microbiology, Pre-Launch R&D, Med Device) Irvine, CA 92618 40 Hour week M-F 8:00am-5:00pm (Full ONE/TWO + year contract through Kelly Services)   Every day, Kelly Services connects professionals with opportunities to advance their careers.  We currently have exciting long term contract opportunities with a global Medical Device firm in Irvine, CA 92618. We are seeking candidates with a Bachelors in Microbiology or closely related micro coursework as well as Biology or Biochemistry professionals with aseptic technique micro experience. Description: The laboratory technician is expected to set up, operate and maintain laboratory instruments, monitor experiments, make observations, calculate and record results, and often develop conclusions. Perform all testing in accordance with GMPs, SOPs, safety and experience in growing microorganisms, and aseptic technique. Can follow written direction and maintain a laboratory rules and production schedule. Under general supervision following SOPs and special test designs; analyzes test data and completes required documentation. Performs equipment maintenance, understands lab safety involving potentially infectious bio-waste and is a team player. Prepares microbial growth media, grows different microorganisms and performs antimicrobial testing, enumerates and identifies microbiological contaminants, makes observations, documents the results and analyzes the data. Knowledge notebook. Has good communication skills and is computer literate.   Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives Works under direct supervision to perform research activities related to product testing Sets up, operates and maintains laboratory instruments and equipment. Gathers data, calculates and records results and properly documents in laboratory notebooks. Requires a limited to full use of application of basic to standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques in science and/or engineering. Cleans and maintains laboratory glassware, equipment and lab areas. Updates databases with information related to project schedules. Updates tracking system for medical devices through the qualification process. Ships and receives medical devices and supplies related to projects within Ramped. Maintains laboratory inventory of chemicals and medical devices.   Important information: This position is recruited for by a remote Kelly office, not your local Kelly branch.
