Berger Transfer & Storage, Las Vegas is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as Warehouse Manager! 
 
The primary job responsibility of the moving and storage Warehouse Manager is to direct and coordinate the activities of the Warehouse to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and to maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. 
 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for supervising the resources and staff of a warehouse to include the operations of household goods, consolidation and distribution activities.
  • Develop and implement procedures and/or policies that will improve efficiencies, reduce claims for damage and/or lost goods, and other cost controls relative to labor ratios, and maintenance costs.
  • Maintain the warehouse locator system using Asset Controls Windfall program for commercial and residential property.
  • Ensure coordination of Warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as Operations, Sales, Records Control, and Purchasing.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction with our services by acting as liaison between customer and Company.
  • Participates in planning and training personnel safety and plant protection activities including, but not limited to, palletizing of HHG’s, marking of international shipments, inventory and forklift certifications.
  • Manages inventory and distribution of commercial and residential goods.
  • Manages the company’s equipment and packing material inventory.
  • Supervises Warehouse handling and transportation activities.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and clean up including the parking lots and grounds.
  • Other projects and duties as may be assigned by management.
 
Qualifications, Education, and Minimum Experience: 
  • Experience in personnel management.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Secondary education is preferred.
  • One year experience in general warehouse environment. Experience in a household goods transportation company is strongly preferred.
  • A current CDL Class A or B is preferred.
  • Current forklift certification is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and able to work with Microsoft Office Suite. Windfall experience is required.
  • Experience in the safe operation of forklifts, reach trucks, pallet pickers, and other material handling equipment.
  • Experience in inventory control using Asset Controls Windfall program, exception taking, and palletizing is essential.
  • Claims awareness and safe material handling practices is critical.
  • Highly organized and able to set priorities.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills
 
Physical Requirements:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk on non-forgiving surfaces such as concrete, wood, metal (to include fiberglass ramps placed on 30 degree angles); use of finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; and regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move 100 pounds without mechanical aid.  Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and accurately read written and computer generated information in English. Must be able to work in all temperature conditions.
