3M is seeking an Electrical Systems Technician for the Consumer Business Group located in Tonawanda, NY. Ready to be part of what's next?

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Electrical Systems Technician will be assigned to a shift and responsible for maintaining & trouble shooting all types of production equipment. Examples of the types of equipment are as follows: PLC systems, VFD's, 480v three phase,120/220 volt systems, hard wired relay & starter logic, RTD's & Flow meters, motors drives etc.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Improving reliability and performance of production equipment through repair and modification of the following:

* Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

* Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)

* Analog and digital AC/DC drive systems

* Calibrations / metrology

* National Electric Code

* Create, read, modify or update electrical diagrams: elementary diagrams, PLC logic, process flow diagrams, instrument flow diagrams, P&ID drawings, etc.

* Work with electrical tools, test equipment and instruments used in industrial plant applications such as oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, meggers, chart recorders.

* Improve manufacturing processes by working on Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens family of control systems

This position will require:

* Working overtime

* Working weekends

* Short notice call in

* Working a 12 hour rotating shift

This position may require:

* Working holidays as needed

* Working either a first, second or third shift depending on shift availability

Basic Qualifications:

* Possess a two-year technical degree or diploma in an electrical or electronics discipline

* Minimum of 1 year of electrical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* 5 years or more of industrial electrical experience

* Associate's degree in an electrical or electronics discipline

Location: Tonawanda, NY

Relocation: Is not authorized

Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
