The Energy & Engineering Specialist supports the Store Design & Construction and Store Facilities Maintenance teams in categories related to energy and engineering.  This position reports to the Director, Store Construction & Project Coordination and has no direct reports.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with Energy Management System (EMS) providers
    • Implement retrofits and manage repairs of EMS equipment in stores
    • Analyze data available on Siemens site, monthly reports or provided by managed services
    • Identify and resolve connection issues/over-ride issues
  • Partner with Store Facilities Maintenance team to administer HVAC PM program (providers/requirements/expectations)
  • Review/qualify/approve quotes for (major) HVAC repairs
  • Execute planned HVAC equipment replacement program
    • Complete RFPs with assistance of Procurement
    • Source and engage consultants as needed
    • Secure rebates for HVAC PM programs, new HVAC equipment purchases and replacement projects through Energy Partner
  • Execute lighting projects in open stores (such as LED retrofits and re-lamp programs)
  • Secure rebates for lighting and mechanical retrofits and lighting and mechanical installations in construction projects through DSW partners.
  • Partner with Finance and other business partners on energy reporting and energy budget as needed
  • Identify and pursue other opportunities related to energy/engineering spend
  • Identify other savings opportunities related to energy/engineering
  • Support Store Construction and Store Facilities Maintenance teams as needed.

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to manipulate large data sets using a variety of computer software tools, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to manage individual projects to a pre-determined budget and to document spend and results.
  • Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to use AutoCad software a plus.

 

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Working knowledge of HVAC design and/or repair.
  • 3 years previous experience in a similar or related role.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to review/approve mechanical and electrical construction drawings a plus.

 

Education:

  • 4-year degree in an energy or engineering related field preferred
