Lead Direct Support Professional Primary Location: United States-IA-IAHiawatha Function: Direct Support Professional (Care Givers) REM Iowa Description
REM Iowa is seeking Lead Direct Support Professionals to provide assistance to individuals with intellectual disabilities, brain injury and emotional, behavioral or medical complexities in a community-based setting. Lead DSPs provide assistance with daily activities such as meal preparation and planning; medication administration; and personal care. Lead DSPs may also facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community or providing transportation to work or other activities and implementing therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for those we support.
In addition, this position assists with daily oversight of individuals in services in a leadership role. Lead DSPs work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individual Plan of Cares, Individual Program Plans, monthly data summaries and to complete other necessary paperwork according to agency and regulatory guidelines. Lead DSPs may assist with staff training and scheduling, participate in a professional on-call system and need to demonstrate a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
