Title of Position: Front of the House [Cashier / Runner]

Overall Responsibility:  This job role is vital to the success of Shane’s Rib Shack.  The front of the house employee ensures we have top notch customer service and that are products are served with 100% satisfaction.  It is the front of the house employee’s responsibility to provide customers with prompt service, quality food and products.  At Shane’s Rib Shack, we want our customers to experience a friendly, upbeat, clean and comfortable atmosphere.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Acts with integrity, honesty & knowledge that promotes the culture, values & mission of Shane’s Rib Shack
  • Ensures customers receive prompt, efficient, courteous customer service. Provides friendly, courteous, polite and ensures prompt resolution of service issues
  • Delivers legendary customer service by determining the customer’s needs & suggesting products to enhance service & meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Performs regular ‘table touches’ to solicit feedback and communicate appropriate information
  • Becomes familiar with the Point of Sale system.  Speed and accuracy need to be mastered quickly
  • Welcomes guests with enthusiasm and expresses appreciation as the guests’ leave
  • Answers the phone promptly and courteously.  Takes over the phone orders and assists customers
  • Contributes to the store goals for increasing sales and improving profits
  • Clearing tables quickly to allow for a smoothie and quick turn during peak hours of lunch and dinner

Title of Position: Back of the House

Overall Responsibility:  This job role is vital to the success of Shane’s Rib Shack.  Back of the House (BOH) positions include prep work, grill position, fryer position, steam table position, and dishwashing. Team members must be able to perform all duties in all areas of the kitchen to ensure fresh food, quality and speed of service.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Acts with integrity, honesty & knowledge that promotes the culture, values & mission of Shane’s Rib Shack
  • Sets up, stocks and organizes workstation at the beginning of the day.
  • Reads orders off of the tickets and prepares orders accordingly.
  • Prepares menu items according to Shane's recipes, quality standards and presentation.
  • Communicates with the FOH when tickets are sitting in the window.
  • Listens to other BOH staff to call for items needed from his/her area.
  • Conducts Line Checks at specified times to check quality and quantity of food.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and sanitary workstation.
  • Minimizes food waste, maintains proper food storage temperatures and rotation.
  • Handles all food and equipment following sanitation, hygiene standards and Health Department guidelines.
  • Operates smoker, grill, fryers, and ovens.
  • Washes dishes and ensures 100% cleanliness and sanitation of utensils, bowls, containers, pots and pans.
  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events
