About this job

The position will ensure that all dishes, pots, utensils and other restaurant tableware are clean and sanitized to expectation. In addition, the dishwasher holds substantial prep cleaning and sanitation duties. It is essential that the dishwasher maintain kitchen work areas, restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition. The role of dishwasher must also complete daily basic prep assignments in a timely manner.

Finally, as the dishwasher it is a critical responsibility to give others encouragement daily and actively work to uphold all Bacchus values, ultimately taking measures to do whatever it takes to ensure our guests and employees satisfaction and to make a concerted effort towards the happiness of every person.

The dishwasher reports to kitchen management and the Executive Chef. This is a non-exempt position.

Requirements

Job Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine.
* Sort and stack clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering.
* Change dishwater in dish machine every hour.
* Wash pots, pans and trays by hand.
* Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
* Set up or break down dishwashing area.
* Clean and roll/unroll mats.
* Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
* Sweep/mop floors.
* Keep dishroom clean and organized.
* Complete opening and closing checklists.
* Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
* Bag and haul kitchen trash to dumpster.
* Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
* Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
* Assemble/disassemble dish machine.
* Sweep up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster.
* General restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
* Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and
* Notify management anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
