Plans Examiner needed for highly regarded company in Collin County.
Essential responsibilities of Plans Examiner include:
- Provide complete non-structural plan reviews of commercial and industrial buildings for compliance with applicable codes and standards
- May provide majority of the structural plan reviews of wood framed commercial and industrial buildings for compliance with applicable codes and standards and engineering principals
- Assess and resolve complaints received from clients, applicants, the public, designers, contractors or co-workers
- May provide basic plan reviews directly for jurisdictions where the scope of the work includes calculating construction valuations and permit fees, processing building permits and reviewing contractors licensing and business licensing
- Prepare written plan review correspondence and update information in to various computer software programs
- Answer and explain client questions regarding generated plan review letters
Knowledge/Certification/Qualifications for Plans Examiner:
- ICC Plan Review Certification(s)
- Working knowledge of the ICC and applicable local codes
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication skills
- Team player
- Problem solver
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Prior building department plan review experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least five years of related work experience
