Purpose of Position:
The Entree Chef will elevate the Haggen Entree/Prepared Food program to category leadership in the community. They will assist with the development and preparation of entrees with a balanced approach to create a destination experience for our guests. Additionally, they will implement the corporate entree/prepared foods program while adding their unique skills to improve the overall go to market of entrees/prepared foods in the given location.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
1.Will execute food production tasks using demonstrated knife and hot foods cookery skills.
2.Will assist in the development, costing and sourcing of fresh/local ingredients for new entree recipes.
3.Ensures execution of all entree/prepared food programs at store level.
4.Sustains and elevates level of knowledge/awareness of relevant competitors and industry trends.
5.Controls inventory and maintains current inventory list for department.
6.Keeps regular Purchase Journal.
7.Achieves consistent margin.
8.Works with Corporate leadership to coordinate priorities.
9.Coordinates validation, item authorization, sign making and all Entree related POS maintenance.
10.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
3 years sous chef experience in fine dining, catering business or upscale retail/grocery environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 year Culinary Arts program certificate preferred.
Ability to comprehend, interpret and analyze instructions, correspondence, journals/articles, technical procedures, governmental regulations, financial reports, legal documents, packing lists, manifests, pick sheets/fulfillment orders, inventory count sheets, movement/volume reports.
Ability to create effective written correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one interaction, as well as in meetings/groups where individual participation/presentation may involve guests, associates, Store/Corporate Leadership.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages, interpret and create graphs, apply concepts of algebra and geometry, determine test reliability and validity, analyze variance.
Ability to use Microsoft Office suite.
Work hours will vary to meet business needs on both weekday and weekend days and covering 5 days per week. Position requires flexibility for all shifts and all schedules.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Exceptional communication skills are a primary need with strong organizational skill and follow through.
Must be at least 18 years of age due to equipment use and work environment.
Current State Food Handlers Permit must be maintained.
