About this job
Aerotek is hiring for 8 construction laborers which can start immediately! Our client is a pipe-fitting contractor that works on civil projects across the country. They contract directly to the data center customers like Infomart, Equinix, etc., and they are currently looking to hire laborers to join their Sterling, VA team for long-term positions.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of commercial construction experience in at least one of the following:
- Trenching, excavating or deep digging experience
- Pipe fitting and laying pipe and/or conduit for wet or dry utilities
- Fiber optic or telecommunication experience
- Storm drain installation or deep septic tank installation
- Heavy equipment experience in a bobcat or mini excavator is a huge plus
Job Responsibilities:
- Dig and trench 8 to 12 feet deep to install pipes
- Work closely with operators in the trenches when install concrete conduit and pipes
- Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space
- Back fill trenches
- Clean and clear debris
- Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment
- Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
Overview:
- $14-$20 based on experience
- Ability to work overtime and receive uncapped overtime pay (time and a half)
- 10 hours of overtime on average per week
- Must have a great work ethic
- Be willing to work outdoors
- HQ located in Sterling, VA
- Ability to learn and operator heavy equipment if willing to be taught
- Potential to grow into a heavy equipment operator
- Shift is M-F 6:30am-2:30pm
